The College of Social Sciences and the School of Interdisciplinary Studies are pleased to offer 4 International Summer School scholarships to students from Universitas Gadjah Mada or Jimbaran Consortium universities (Udayana, Andalas, Cendrawasih, Jember, Sam Ratulangi and Universitas Sumatera Utara).
The scholarship is worth £2500 and covers the 3-week Summer School programmeEnvironment, change and the future: the Scottish Experience to be held at the University of Glasgow's Dumfries Campus from 20 June-8 July 2016. It covers course tuition fees, accommodation, airport pick-up and a social programme. Scholars are responsible for their return flights to Glasgow, visa cost, and any personal expenses.
How to apply?
To be considered, simply submit an application for a place on the programme and include a personal statement stating why you feel you should receive the scholarship and a reference from one of your lecturers.
Applications must be submitted before 30 March 2016 to be considered for the scholarship.
The programme conveners will review and select scholars after the deadline. Candidates can expect to hear the outcome before 30 April 2016.
Join us in the relaxing surroundings and parklands of the Dumfries Campus for this creative and overtly interdisciplinary course that will stimulate participants to question their underlying assumptions about environmental change, in order to promote informed social engagement.
Alongside a schedule of lectures and workshops using a range of disciplines from the social sciences, natural sciences and humanities, the course will include local case studies and visits to sites at the heart of the programme.
The Summer School begins on 20 June and runs over 3 weeks. Successful completion will earn students 15 Glasgow credits. Generally our courses are awarded 7.5 ECTS in the European system; we recommend however that students check with their institution how much credit will be awarded for the course they take at the University of Glasgow.
